RIMES Secondment Program aims at building scientific and technical capacities of scientists, forecasters, and technical specialists from RIMES Member and Collaborating States. This capacity building process involves technology transfer, sharing of knowledge and experience, and on-the-job training.
In collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), RIMES offers fellowships for a 2-year Master Program in Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation, and Management. The RIMES-AIT Graduate Fellowship Program aims to ensure a dynamic human resource base in RIMES Member States on hydro-meteorological and tsunami warning, research, and applications.

This album contains photos of activities implemented under the UNESCAP funded project “Strengthening of Myanmar’s Multi-Hazard Early Warning System”. This project aims to assist Myanmar’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) in developing a capacity building program framework for addressing capacity gaps, as well as fill immediate capacity gaps in earthquake monitoring and tsunami warning, and decision-support tools for disaster risk management.
